It seems Google cannot index everything. If you go to Ripple World Pictures's official website, you can see the news was out on Nov. 30, 2009. Anyway, a little more info about Colin's new project "Parked".

Ripple's latest feature film Parked  has started pre-production in Dublin. Directed by Darragh Byrne and starring Colm Meaney, Colin Morgan and Finnish actress Milka Ahlroth, the film will shoot from January 11th for four weeks in Dublin.

Sometimes the person you least expect will change your life for ever.

When mobile homeless man Fred Daly loses his job in London he starts his car and ends up in a seaside car park near his old family home in Dublin, a city he hasn't seen in years.

With his aged father deteriorating in a nursing home and no job prospects, Fred's life soon shrinks to a series of mundane routines. Until his world is opened up by Cathal, a chaotic, dope-smoking twenty-one year old who pulls up in a little yellow car.

With a car park and a troubled history with their fathers in common, the unlikely duo soon become friends. Cathal's infectious energy rubs off on Fred, who modifies his car to make it more comfortable, challenges the welfare system and visits his father. At the local swimming pool he falls for Juliana, a well-travelled music teacher, but is too proud to be honest with her about where he lives. Meanwhile Cathal's dream of becoming a holiday rep is threatened by his escalating drug habit. About to achieve their goal of getting Fred a house, Cathal suffers a violent beating from his dealers, takes an overdose and dies.

The death of Cathal leaves Fred a changed man, finally able to reconnect with his father and open up fully to Juliana, the woman he has been too afraid to be honest with until now.

PARKED is a moving, funny, uplifting film about friendship, honesty and the importance of feeling truly at home.

I think Colin will play Cathal (who will die in this film), and he will drive a yellow car. Has Colin got his driver's license? Or he doesn't need it since they will film it in a studio.

There aren't many plays like this — it just flies by. The audience is not necessarily going to know what's hit it. The rhythm of the play is such that it fires straight out the gun and doesn't stop. It's beautifully written. We became aware how much you have to honour the playwright John Guare's writing , because it's poetry actually — it's very, very specific writing; you can't change a word, you can't be approximate, you have to hit the nail right on the head.

It was friends of Guare's that were affected by this real-life conman. They said to him: "You're not going to believe what happened to us." He said that, although it infused over three years, he actually wrote it in three days. This is pretty much the first draft — he didn't tinker with it subsequently — and you can feel him at the keys, not stopping until the end. It just has this drive.

There are certain circumstances now, like the recession, that mimic the situation in the early 1990s. At that time, the art trade was very much at its height — the play is set when these people were at the height of their game — and the bottom is about to fall out of their world. The thing that's very clever about this piece is that when this imposter, Paul, comes in, he acts as a catalyst to these two Upper-East Siders living in their rarefied world.

My character realises he has become cynical, he's just selling art as pieces of meat. Paul's aim is just to be accepted, which is why it's rather sad when it all goes wrong. It's about allowing your imagination to take you farther. Somebody asked, about this great, great speech Paul makes about imagination: "How important is that to the play?" and John very sweetly said "It is the play." Interview by David Hayles Six Degrees of Separation The title of John Guare's 1990 play refers to the dubious theory that each of us is only six steps away from everybody on Earth. That gives the piece a famous speech, but isn't so central to a plot which is based on a real-life conman who, as fictionalised by Guare, persuaded a wellmeaning Manhattan couple that he was the son of Sidney Poitier and a close friend of their own son at Harvard. This prepossessing young man then proceeded to take advantage of their credulity, with odd and interesting results. Stockard Channing, Donald Sutherland, Ian McKellen and Will Smith starred in the film of the play; Lesley Manville, Obi Abili and Anthony Head (above) appear in David Grindley's revival at Kevin Spacey's theatre.
